Your concept art looks brilliant and your renders look stunningly superb! As I was watching the Build 0024 video on YouTube, at first, my jaw dropped at how beautiful the game looked – but this excitement was quickly abated by the boring and mediocre and repetitive gameplay. I’m not interested in playing action shooters (which is what this game is at the moment). My dream BattleTech computer game would be a modern-day sequel to MechCommander or MechCommander 2, or a MMORPG set in the entire Inner Sphere (where the player plays a mercenary starting off his/her MechWarrior career, and slowly amasses salvage and C-Bills to eventually own the best ‘Mechs and weapons (or even take control of a ‘Mech company)). I really hope that you guys change your game design from an action shooter to a ‘Mech company Commander game (in control of a company of computer-controlled MechWarriors/’Mechs (similar to the gameplay of the old computer games MechCommander and MechCommander 2)), otherwise I’ll be playing the upcoming MechWarrior Tactics (or replaying MechCommander and MechCommander 2 again for the umteenth time) instead. I mean no offence to you guys – the work that you guys have done on this game so far is superb!

    • Here here. I know it’s only a few of you working on this, right now, but it’s been time to get a full-on total universe MMORPG for a long time, now.

If we could get what gazra1971 suggested, that would likely stave off the desire for that full-on MMORPG for a while.

  2. is it likely to be playable on a Mac? Also would love to see models based on those wicked concept sketches

  3. Another question I just thought about… sorry, guys, I know you’re in the midst of development on this, but if I don’t get something off my mind when I think about it, it will be missed, and so might any opportunities.

Do you intend to build a random mission generator for the SP game?

If you do, let me know, please? I have taken the time to develop what I call the Compiled Mission Types Catalog, and I’m on v.2. The CMTC takes all previous MechWarrior and Mech Commander Games, not Mech Assault, and breaks down the missions. I’m not talking about briefings, just the missions and objectives, and puts it all into the Mercenary’s Handbook 3055 mission types. The tables and definitions for the types of objectives are NOT set to any sort of random rolling system, they only outline what can be done. However, development of a system for making these random would NOT be difficult to do.

    • Alright, I have to make a couple of corrections to my previous posting…
      1) I’m on v3, now… I took some extra time to edit last night, ensuring that items are spelled correctly, that what needs to be somewhere… is.

      2) I said “The CMTC takes all previous…” and that’s not entirely the truth. I thought I had completed outlines for the original MechWarrior, as well as Crescent Hawk’s Inception and Revenge, and I have not, as the walkthroughs I found available in 2008 were insufficient to my need, and I’m unable to play these games on any of my computers, now.

      3) “…and puts it all into the Mercenary’s Handbook 3055 mission types”. While this continues to be true, I added a section called General Overall Contract in v2 that I forgot about.

Still, you can see the CMTC3 at http://www.wolvesau.net/AU/CMTC3.pdf ; WOW, the new Firefox pdf viewer is garbage… I hope they improve that, soon.

  4. Alright, you’ve explained that you’re intent to have folks play based on new builds to the game. Is that going to be your play tester pool, or do you intend to have more specialized folks testing specific aspects of the game, as needed?

    • When we put up builds we want people to play and let us know what they think. The cool thing is with this blog is they can also post things they find wrong or not working correctly.

  5. And idea on how long the campaign will be?

    Keep up the great work!

    • Not at this time, as we dive into the design of missions/campaign we will released more information.

  6. I would love to hear what your plans are to market/publish the title. Let’s talk! david@detailcommunications.com

    • This project is not going to be marketed/published. This is a non-profit, labor of love at this time.

  7. You guys should totally make a Kickstarter for this! I saw the video on Youtube and my jaw hit the floor, I just couldn’t wait to see what more I could find out about it and my searching brought me here. To find out all that had been done by just 3 guys?! Wow.. yeah.. so looking forward to playing this some day. Keep up the good work.

    • Thanks for the positive feedback! As of right now this project is a non-profit, labor of love so we are not making any plans to market/publish. If the project get enough attention then who knows!!

  8. Hi, guys, Colonel Wolf, here (Armageddon Unlimited, retired). This looks like it has some pretty great potential. Good luck, and I’m hoping for the best for you, and for the BattleTech lot who have been getting hammered for years.

    • We really hope to bring an amazing experience to such dedicated player base, and as you pointed out we have gotten the short end of the stick up until recently!

  9. It’s going to be free?

    Do you guys accept donations?
